Take me out tonight.

Dance my life away.
Yesterday was the big day. The one day that would be the end of the world as we knew it, the one day who would change everything, the day that we would be born again. Yesterday was graduation. Twelve long years have come to an end, and it's all over now.

At first everything felt so overwhelming, so sad. It's hard to give up what you've had for twelve years even though there will always be something new. It just won't be the same.
There where a lot of good-byes, fare-wells, good-lucks. Sometimes empty words, sometimes they really meant something. One thing was sure: it's all was over, and we knew it.

When the night had come, we gathered for one last time, celebrating and saying good bye to each other. Most poeple got wasted, but not me. Instead I danced the night away, letting all the overwhelming feelings drip off me in tiny, salty pearls of sweat. It felt better to just not care for once than crying all night long and not remember a thing the day after. Henning was the dj, the only kid in school who, except for me, listens to punk/pop/indie/totalfuckingnoise, and it was intense. I remembered all the good times we had together over a year ago when we played in the same band, before I fucked everything up that time. He has forgiven me for everything, and we danced and we danced and we tore down the house. It was so intense.

We were the last ones to leave, walking together through the neighborhood, past trees, past houses, together in the early morning just before the sunrise. He who held the party lives about three kilometres from the nearest bus station, in the middle of nowhere, so we had plenty of time to catch up with each other before splitting up to go home. That was when I realized that I didn't really care about school and friendship and everything I felt so sad to lose just a couple of hours earlier: all I've wanted for a whole year was just to be forgiven once and for all.
